Friday, August 22                         Academic Standing run for all Summer Sessions

 

Instructions for each Summer Session (please reference above dates):

  1. Grade Roster icons are scheduled to be visible in your Faculty Center for each class you are teaching before the end of the session (see above dates, "Grade Roster available in Faculty Center").  
  2. You or your TA may begin to enter grades as soon as the icon appears.  You may enter or change grades as often as you wish up until "Last date to enter grades,"(see above dates) as students will not yet be able to see the grades you are entering. Grades are still expected to be entered 96 hours after the final exam block to allow for deans’ offices to review them before posting.
  3. The Registrar’s Office will “post” all the grades early in the morning on the date shown above as "Grades viewable by students," so that students can see them in their Student Center.  If any grades are missing at the time of posting, the system will post “NR” as a grade, meaning “Not Reported.”
  4. From morning after the posting completes through 11:59 p.m. on the final date under "Grade changes allowed online," (see above dates) faculty may use the online Request Grade Change process in their Faculty Center to change a student’s posted grade.  Students will be able to see the change immediately. (For example, you could change an “NR” to the appropriate grade.)    Note: One problem has been identified with Mac users on Safari:  The “Submit” and “Cancel” buttons at the bottom of the screen do not respond and so do not complete the grade change, or some grades change and not others.  Mac users encountering these problems should use Mozilla Firefox or Explorer (both have been tested and appear to work just fine).  No other problems with Safari have been encountered.
  5. On Friday, August 22,, the Registrar’s Office will run the Academic Standing process, which will calculate academic standing and make it visible in PeopleSoft and on transcripts. Once academic standing has been run, we cannot keep the academic standing calculation in sync with updated grades unless we do it manually. That means we need to revert to a paper processtherefore, you would need to submit a paper “Course Adjustment Form” for any late grade change beginning Friday, August 22.
  6. If you have questions about the grading process, please see the UH Faculty Grading Demo at http://www.uh.edu/peoplesoft/tutorials.html or ask the Class Schedule Officer in your department for assistance (the person who helps you with setting up your class in the class schedule).  If you or your TA do not see the appropriate course in your Faculty Center, your Class Schedule Officer can remedy this situation.

1.  Fix for Explorer problem in which left-hand menu works (user can still do what's needed) but right-hand menu doesn't respond.  (UH problem)  OR for problem downloading class rosters with Internet Explorer version 7.0.

2.  List of compatible browsers for PS Student Admin v.8.9.

3.  Fix for browser problem at UHV:  "page cannot be displayed" on one side or the other.

4. (NEW)  Fix for inability to download files from PeopleSoft using Explorer in Windows (versions 6 or 7) --including DOWNLOADING OF FACULTY CLASS ROSTERS OR GRADE ROSTERS.
