The UHDPS Parking Enforcement Division
also assists UHPD with emergency and
critical situations pertaining to
security and safety of drivers and
pedestrians. This division is working
with UHDPS to implement surveillance
video cameras in parking lots and will
also participate in monitoring of
surveillance cameras to enhance safety
of property and person.
DIVISIONAL MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission is to strive to provide
quality and courteous assistance to the
UH Campus Community through
professionalism, dedication and public
service and safety.
DIVISIONAL GOALS
The UHDPS Enforcement Division is always
aiming to find ways to better assist the
UH Community. To better service our
community, we attend and participate in
regularly scheduled meetings for campus
planning and real estate and
transportation advisory meetings.
SPECIAL EVENTS REQUEST
The UHDPS Parking Enforcement Division
also assists the University of Houston
campus community by taking request for
special events. Our Division works with
Departments and Student Groups to
schedule and reserve specific areas for
an approved event. The UHDPS Parking
Enforcement Division has worked with
departments and groups in setup of blood
drives, graduation ceremonies, career
fairs and many other events. All outdoor
events must be cleared through the
University Center Reservations office.
We require a one week notification for
all special events. A request form must
be filled out by the department stating
event time(s), location, name of event
and contact person name and telephone
number.
BUSES ARRIVING FOR SPECIAL EVENTS
If your event requires the patron
drop-off by use of non-university buses,
due to traffic flow problems (and
security concerns), it is required that
your department contact UHDPS Parking
Enforcement Division so arrangements can
be made for drop-off and pickup
locations. Buses arriving on campus
should adhere to the following:
1. Buses are not allowed to stop or park
in the roadway, this is illegal.
2. Stopping or parking in the roadway
creates both vehicular and pedestrian
safety concern by obstructing the view
of drivers and pedestrians walking
between buses.
3. The University Administration has
ordered that no outside entity buses are
to be on Entrance 1 or any other
University of Houston street or entrance
for the purpose of unloading or loading
or parking.
