    All registered participants should check in to pick up your packets, including the Guide to Family Weekend, wristbands, tickets and other goodies! Stop by this location anytime you need assistance or just want to take a break. Sponsored by The Dean of Students Office. All families are strongly encouraged to check-in on Friday!

    This is your opportunity to share your student’s college experience. Please ask your student to contact his/her professor for permission in advance. Please note that some classes will not be able to accommodate visitors due to limited space.

    Family Weekend Library Tour and Special Collections Exhibits
    M.D. Anderson Library
    Visit M.D. Anderson Library and chat with librarians about the technology, services, and study spaces available to students. Tours of the building will be offered every half hour staring at 10:00am. Don’t have time for a tour? Stop by the library anytime between 10:00-12:00pm to pick up brochures and free giveaways.

    Healthy Coogs, Healthy Planet
    Cougar Woods Dining Hall; meet on the steps of the dining hall near the intersection of Cullen and Wheeler.
    Join UH Dining Services and the Office of Sustainability for a tour of the organic campus community garden and a healthy recipe demonstration. Participants will learn how to create a healthy in-season meal, where to purchase local produce, gardening tips and more! Bring your appetite and dine in after the demo for $1 off your meal. Recipe cards, refreshments and food samples will be provided.

    Health Center Open House featuring FREE Flu Shots
    located between Student Service Center 1 and 2
    What better way to keep your student healthy and successful this academic year than to get them vaccinated against influenza. Free flu shots will be available to students with valid ID at the University of Houston Health Center. Available while supplies last. Picture ID required. When you visit the Health Center, your student can enter a drawing for a $10 voucher that can be used towards payment for any of our services! Find out more about services we offer: General Medical Clinic, Orthopedics, Psychiatry, Women’s Clinic, Men’s Clinic, Dental Center, Lab and Pharmacy Services.

What can my child do with a B.A. degree in Art History?

    Join Exploratory Studies for our first annual College Fair, a one stop source to all things UH! We will have representatives from different UH colleges as well as various campus resources available to answer any questions you may have!     Family Weekend Student Center Tour

    Join us for a tour of the transformed Student Center! The tour will feature: The Student Center North, the home for student involvement and student-focused programs and services, including the home of Coog Radio, and the Student Government Association Senate Chamber. The Student Center South portion will feature fabulous retail highlights including the two-level Barnes and Noble @ UH Bookstore and the Games Room, bursting with Cougar Red school spirit and games galore! Before or after your tour, be sure to visit one of the many dining options or the student-managed Shasta’s Cones and More ice cream store for a sweet treat.

International and domestic student representatives will share their unique experiences and interesting facts about the campus and community.

    Take a moment out of your busy day to make a difference! Stop by our Cougars Give Back station located right outside the Family BBQ and help build care packages for the Star of Hope, which provides services and shelter to Houston’s homeless men, women and children. Help us build care packages and write notes of encouragement for those who need it most. Do you collect toiletries from hotels? Consider donating travel size shampoo, soap, conditioner, combs, razors, toothpaste etc. It’s all needed! Other needed items are Band-Aids, Kleenex, socks and washcloths. Sponsored by Center for Student Involvement and The Metropolitan Volunteer Program

Jean Brodie is a free-spirited teacher at a Scottish girls' school during the 1930s. She is very popular with her students due to her teaching of romantic ideals yet her teaching philosophy is not appreciated by the school's principle. As Miss Brodie becomes entangled in a love triangle, her behavior towards her favorite students becomes increasingly manipulative.

A multitude of activities will be going-on so pick and choose what you and your family would like to participate in or just sit back and relax over good conversation and food.
