Friday, October 12th

This is your opportunity to share your student’s college experience. Please ask your student to contact his/her professor for permission in advance.
10:00-12:00pm Library Open House and Tours, M.D. Anderson Library
Visit M.D. Anderson Library and chat with librarians about the technology, services, and study spaces available to students. Tours of the building will be offered every half hour staring at 10:30am. Don't have time for a tour? Stop by the library anytime between 10:00-12:00 to pick up brochures and free giveaways. Sponsored by M.D. Anderson Library

Meet our Associate Dean of Academics and receive an update on what's happening at Hilton College. Then you'll hear from the student leaders of three of our student organizations and how their experiences here have enhanced their professional development. This discussion will be followed by a tour of our facilities, and coffee and dessert in Cougar Grounds—our student-run coffee shop. We look forward to welcoming our Cougar parents and their future leaders of the hospitality industry!

The college experience is a fun but also stressful time for students. This workshop will help you to understand the necessary balance between supporting your student and providing the independence that is critical for success in college.

Does your student need help: Choosing a major? Writing his/her resume? Preparing for an interview? Come by and see how we can help! Spin the University Career Services wheel for a prize and enjoy refreshments while we walk you through our services. What better way to keep your students healthy and successful this academic year than to get them vaccinated against the flu. Free flu shots will be available to students with valid ID at the University of Houston Health Center. Family members who are 18 years old or older can also receive the flu shot for $15. Available while supplies last. Picture ID required.

Free Physical Exams and Teeth Cleaning – When you visit the Health Center your student can enter a drawing for a free physical exam and/or teeth cleaning! Find out more about services we offer: General Medical Clinic, Dermatology, Orthopedics, Psychiatry, Women's Clinic, Men's Clinic, Dental Clinic, Lab and Pharmacy Services.

Visit the Cullen College of Engineering to see some of the projects in which our students engage as they learn the principles of engineering. Experience student-designed robotic projects like the Sumo-bot and the Target Acquisition Bot. Also see one of our popular outreach projects – Breadboard Bingo. It's a fusion of Latin and international music and dance themes creating a dynamic, exciting and effective fitness experience! Join us in the College of Architecture for an inside peek at what it means to be a design student. Hear from current students in the College of Architecture, go on a tour of the facilities, and see a demonstration in the Keeland Design Center. Light refreshments will be served.
9:00-10:30am UH Family Tailgate, Robertson Stadium, President’s Pavilion
Join us at the UH Family Tailgate, located directly in front or Robertson Stadium on the Scott Street Side. We will be located inside Tailgate Village in the President's Pavilion and surrounding area (please refer to the map inside your registration). This is a private event open only to guests of ZTA.
Parents and guests of ZTA members are invited to join the chapter in celebrating a successful Think Pink Week. This week-long philanthropy project helped the University of Houston chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha raise money for Breast Cancer Education and Awareness. Come join the women of ZTA for the announcement of the Think Pink Week Competition's winner, fun and food!

Join Outdoor Adventure on a leisurely bike ride through downtown Houston. All equipment is provided and total distance for the tour is 10 miles.  Space is limited! The Campus Community Garden at the University of Houston teaches students how to garden organically while giving back to the community by providing healthy produce to local food banks. Participants will sample food from the garden, receive a tour and brief history of the garden and have the opportunity to learn the “ins-and-outs” of managing a garden including weeding, planting, seeding and harvesting of the produce.Participants will gain a better understanding of agricultural sustainability and receive some fresh herbs to take home to remember this experience!  Sponsored by The Office of Sustainability

Discover the newest, most innovative contemporary art to explore the artistic forces that shape our surroundings. Blaffer Art Museum invites you to take a free, guided tour, offered on the half hour from 3:00-5:00 pm. Visit Tony Feher, the museum's inaugural exhibition and help celebrate the museum's grand reopening. Our knowledgeable docents will take you through a world of colorful, abstract sculptures that often conjure new takes on objects daily life, re-imagined in unexpected and inspiring way.
