Frequently Asked Questions
The schedule for Family Weekend is created to resemble a “conference” type schedule, meaning what you decide to attend is completely up to you! We strive to host a variety of events that will appeal to a wide array of interests, so there may be some sessions scheduled at the same time. Please note, some departments are also hosting “on-going” events throughout the entire weekend, these are great departments to visit in your free time as you explore our campus.
Family Weekend will be held October 18-19, 2013. The focus of the event is to welcome parents, family members and family friends of our students to campus so that they can have the opportunity to experience a portion of their student’s life at The University of Houston.
This is an ideal time for families of all our students to visit UH. We invite parents, siblings, aunts and uncles, grandparents and anyone else in your family tree to join us for this exciting weekend!

There are two Family Weekend packages, the only difference is that one package includes tickets to the UH football game. Family weekend registration packages can be purchased for either $50 (including the football game) or $30 per person. A package includes admission to participate in activities listed on the Family Weekend schedule of events including educational and social activities, the Family BBQ and the official UH Family Tailgate party. Every person registered will also receive the official Family Weekend T-shirt as well as additional give-away items and discounts to various venues across campus.
UH students get into all activities for free when their family members have registered for the event. Please be aware that while your student is able to attend the football game for free, their tickets are for seats located in the student section, which is adjacent to our Family Weekend section. If you would like to reserve a ticket for your student to sit with you in the Family Weekend section, you must purchase a Family Weekend package for them ($50).
