UH NORTHWEST 

Nestled within the trees just northwest of Houston, you’ll find the University of Houston Northwest location on the Lone Star College University Park campus, with easy access to State Highway 249 and the Grand Parkway.

As a Center of the University of Houston, UHNW offers Tier One graduate and undergraduate programs from the College of Technology and College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. These programs meet the needs of a diverse student population, while supporting the community. 

The University of Houston Northwest location partners with Lone Star College University Park, which provides workforce degrees and certificates, in addition to core academic programs for students interested in pursuing a degree at a four-year university.

GETTING STARTED

The Office of Online and Distance Education is here to ensure you are well informed and prepared to choose a UH Northwest program. Our staff is your first point of contact and can provide an overview of any programs that interest you. Additionally, we can answer questions related to cost, admissions, and enrollment. Once you have selected a program, we will put you in touch with a UH Northwest academic advisor. The UH Northwest academic advisor is able to review degree plans, submit petitions, and discuss course requirements and selections with you.

UH NORTHWEST SERVICES

Students enrolled at UH Northwest have access to the same student services as all University of Houston students and more. 

Computer Labs – Computer Labs are located in building 12 on the 4th floor, room 456 and the 7th floor, room 706.  Students may use the lab for educational, instructional, and university business.  Team work areas are inside or adjacent to the labs so students may meet to work on group projects.  Labs are open 8:00 am – 9:30 pm Monday through Thursday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm on Friday and 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm on Saturday.

Library – Students at UH Northwest have access to the Lone Star College Learning Resource Center, located on the 8th floor of building 12.  Students may also access online resources through UH Libraries and submit requests to have books transferred to the Lone Star College Learning Resource Center.  For more information go to the LSC-University Park Library page.

Writing CenterStudents at UH Northwest may access the Writing Center online.  The Writing Center offers one-on-one consultations with trained Writing Consultants who will assist students to develop and structure ideas, organize thoughts and generally improve their writing skills.  Additional information, including directions on how to schedule a consultation are available at the Online Writing Services page.

BookstoreLone Star College University Park has a bookstore with various snacks and supplies available.  Some UH faculty choose to have their books available at this location.  Store hours and a listing of supplies are available at the Lone Star College University Park bookstore website.
