The University of Houston Graduate School uses CollegeNET for the processing of graduate applications. Applying students will use CollegeNET to submit an application, review a submitted application, and access post-submission functionality. The following steps are an overview of the graduate application process

Dates and deadlines

Review your program website for application deadlines, as they are specific to each program. Additionally, some programs are cohort style or only begin in the Fall or Spring semesters. Make sure to review your deadlines carefully to avoid missing an admissions cycle.

Application and fees

Complete an application online using CollegeNet. You can use CollegeNet to submit, review, and check the status of your application. Application requirements and fees vary widely by program. Review your specific program website to become familiar with any applicable fees.

Transcripts can be mailed or scanned using these instructions. Students are permitted to enroll only after official transcripts showing undergraduate degree conferral are submitted. Students who attended institutions outside of the United States should consult the International Applicants Transcripts Information page.

Test scores

Test scores (GRE, GMAT, etc.) should be sent by the testing agency using school code 6870. Refer to your program website for test score requirements. International applicants must satisfy English proficiency requirements (TOEFL/IELTS).

Supplemental material

Review your program website for specific information concerning additional application materials. Such material may include but is not limited to letters of recommendation, list of references, personal statement of goals or interests, resume/curriculum vitae, writing sample or portfolio.
