Welcome to the Office of Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Opportunity's (OAA/EEO) web site. General responsibilities of OAA/EEO include the development and implementation of affirmative action and equal opportunity programs that ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. OAA/EEO works closely with University administrators to develop and monitor the faculty and staff recruitment and selection process to ensure nondiscrimination and affirmative action. This office also coordinates and presents awareness and prevention training in sexual harassment and the Americans with Disabilities Act and is charged with implementing the Sexual Harassment Policy, Sexual Assault Policy, and the Grievance Procedures Relating to Title IX and Other Discrimination Complaints. In addition, OAA/EEO handles complaints of discrimination and harassment based on race, color, sex, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, age, disability, or veteran status.With regard to discrimination and harassment policies, individuals may contact OAA/EEO to inquire about the process for addressing discrimination concerns, counseling, filing a complaint, or the application of policies to specific situations. The Office of Affirmative Action works in collaboration with other units of the University, when necessary, to seek a fair and effective resolution with due regard to confidentiality to all concerned. No person shall be subjected to retaliation for filing a complaint or assisting others in an investigation under the University's equal employment opportunity and affirmative action policies.
