Internal Scholarships

How to Apply

All students who receive a scholarship are expected to attend a minimum of one nursing recruitment event or approved event per semester.

Documentation

  1. College of Nursing application form
  2. Financial need (FAFSA)
  3. Faculty Scholarship Recommendation Form (if required)

Gessner College of Nursing Scholarship Application form and any supporting documentation required for the scholarship application.

  • Preference given to full time enrolled students with an interest in the operating room (O.R.), perioperative, or school nursing.
Dr. Ginger Blomstrom Nursing Scholarship UG & GR One Time Scholarship
  • Enrolled in 1 Nursing course
  • Minimum GPA 3.0
Dr. Roberto J. and Agniela (Annie) M. Bayardo/TMAF Hispanic Nursing Scholarship UG $10,000/$2,500 each semester
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Hispanic student. Demonstrate financial need.

Submit a 500-word essay describing one or more of your accomplishments or actions that Dr. Sophie Rydin would be proud of and why. Information on Dr. Sophie Rydin will be made available to the students by the scholarship committee. Information on Dr. Sophie Rydin can also be found on her website.
UH College of Nursing Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Nurse Faculty Loan Program Provides loan to RNs in the MSN Nursing Education track, full-time and part-time students, to support the cost of tuition, fees, books, lab expenses, and other reasonable education expenses to enroll and retain graduate students by providing faculty support through mentoring and other training programs.

  • Scholarship applicant is a returning half time or full time student (at least 5 years out of high school)

  • Preference given to a student who is or has been a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

  • Preference given to student with an interest in Perioperative or Intensive Care Nursing. Students seeking a Nursing Career in medically underserved or underrepresented areas. Students with an interest in teaching nursing in an institution of higher education.
