Summer Bridge ProgramThe Summer Bridge Program assists students majoring in STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) with the transition from high school to the University of Houston and prepares students for success in Calculus and Chemistry courses during their freshman year. Online applications should be submitted no later than May 12, 2017.

Summer 2017 Dates

June 5 – August 4

Upon Successful Completion of Summer Bridge Program Participants:

  • Receive a $3,000 stipend from which the tuition/fees for the required one-semester hour course will be deducted and
  • Are eligible to apply for a $1,000 stipend for the fall 2017 semester

Summer Bridge Minimum Admission Criteria

  • Admission UH for the fall 2017 semester as a first-time-in-college student
  • Admission to UH as a major in a STEM field (i.e., a major in one of the following colleges: Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Engineering, or Technology)
  • Rank in the top 25% of high school graduating class
  • U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Completion of pre-calculus in high school with a grade of B or higher
