Physics Department Learning Center

The Learning Center offers a way for UH students to get help with physics concepts and homework problems from physics tutors for PHYS 1301, 1302, 1321, 1322, 1305, and 1306.

The Learning Center is located in room 526 of the Science and Research 1 Building. UH physics tutors will be present in the Physics Learning Center to assist students requesting in-person help. Appointments are not necessary. The Physics Learning Center is open on all official class days. Fall and Spring Semester hours of operation are 9 am – 7pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, Tuesday 9am – 2:30pm and 4 pm – 7pm, and Friday 9 am – 1pm. Summer hours are Monday – Thursday 11 am – 4pm.

Tutors are NOT there to do homework for students or to merely give answers to problems. Rather, they are there to help students understand the material, enabling them to answer homework and exam questions by themselves. Students should come to the Learning Center prepared by attending classes and reading over the assigned material.
