Key people from the industry spotted at the event were Tad Smith (GSH President/Apache), Paul Schatz (GSH President -elect), Dr. Rob Stewart (GSH 1st Elect/UH), Tommie Rape (GSH Editor), Dr. Fred Hilterman(Geokinetics/UH), Michael Bahorich (CTO of Apache), Arthur Cheng (Halliburton), Lee Lawyer (Chevron), Lisa Buckner (Hess). Following delicious appetizers at Yard House, the energetic crowd was greeted by the SEG Wavelets President, Long Huang who then initiated six raffle drawings. The event was created to be an opportunity for the students to network and build relationships with the industry leaders, alumni, professors and fellow students in a casual setting. Alumni showed their support and are looking forward to the next event in March. The student led initiative is part of a new tradition for the UH Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences.
