Composition of Thesis and Dissertation Committees

A thesis or dissertation committee form needs to be on file one semester before the Master thesis defense, respectively before the Ph.D. preliminary defense.  Thesis or dissertation committee form can be found at http://nsm.uh.edu/docs/nsm/academics/Committee Composition Form.pdf.

Thesis and Dissertation Defense

Students are expected to submit the thesis or dissertation document to committee members at least two weeks before the anticipated defense, and schedule date, time and location of the defense.

Thesis defense, Dissertation Pre-Defense and Dissertation Defense are open to the general public and need to be publicly announced at least 7 days before the event. To create a public announcement, please complete the online thesis defense submission form: www.cs.uh.edu/news-events/thesis-defenses/submission

Submitting a Thesis or Dissertation Document

Master’s and Ph.D. students who are prepared to submit their thesis or dissertation for review for final approval should bring a copy to the Office of Academic Affairs, in SR1 room 202, between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday. The submission also has to include an original signature page containing signatures of all committee members.  In case of questions, contact Sharonda Glass at sglass@uh.edu.
