University of Houston Adds VideoLink ReadyCam® TV Studio for National TV Interviews

Temple Northup, associate professor and director of the Valenti School of Communication

The University of Houston can now make its faculty and other experts available for interviews on national television news programs more easily with the installation of a VideoLink ReadyCam® television studio system on its Houston campus.

The ReadyCam studio provides broadcast-quality HD video streams to networks worldwide without the need to add any UH staff. The studio also enhances UH’s ability to create video content for external and internal audiences and to stream live video to Facebook and other platforms.

“The University of Houston has a wealth of faculty expertise and this is especially true for issues that are indigenous to our geography and economy such as energy and immigration,” said Mike Rosen, UH executive director of media relations. “By adding the ReadyCam studio on our campus, we hope to expand our reach of thoughtful analysis rooted in fact and research and become a more valuable resource for journalists worldwide.”

Fully equipped with an HD camera, broadcast-quality audio and lighting, an electronic backdrop and internet-based transmission, the ReadyCam is operated for network live shots by VideoLink technicians 24/7/365. It can also stream to Facebook Live, YouTube and to a variety of webcasting platforms.

“We are pleased to partner with the University of Houston in its strategic effort to share its faculty’s expertise and knowledge with news organizations nationwide,” said Jonathan Robbins, VideoLink Director of ReadyCam Sales. “UH will be better able to showcase its research and academics to wider audiences thanks to the convenience of the ReadyCam studio.”
