The University of Houston's Air Force ROTC program will be hosting the third annual Houston Corps of Cadets Joint Awards Ceremony and Parade featuring the Army, Navy and Air Force ROTC programs on Friday, April 16 at 1:00 p.m., Cullen Performance Hall, University of Houston central campus. The public is invited to this free event.
The Houston Corps of Cadets, created in September 2007, is the official association of Air Force, Army and Navy ROTC programs in the Houston area. It is the first corps named after a major American city. This is the first time that all three ROTC programs will be recognized together. This annual parade rotates between Rice University and UH. Awards and scholarships will be given to top-performing cadets and midshipmen. A pass-and-review will conclude the ceremony.
With over 350 cadets and midshipmen, the Houston Corps of Cadets is already the second-largest corps of cadets in the Gulf Coast region and is on target to becoming the largest corps in Texas by 2020.
