Saba Javed, former president of the University of Houston chapter of
the American Chemical Society (ACS), graduated in May 2008 with a Bachelor
of Science in chemistry and will continue her chemistry studies as a
graduate student at the California Institute of Technology beginning
in the fall. UH’s success in churning out
ACS-certified graduates
has put its chemistry department in some very exclusive company.
