RUSSIAN DELEGATION VISITS UH TO SUPPORT
PARTNERSHIP
WITH MOSCOW CITY UNIVERSITY
A delegation of Russian officials will visit the University of
Houston Thursday, Oct. 13, to formalize a preliminary agreement
for academic collaboration between UH and Moscow City University
of Psychology and Pedagogics.
This memorandum of understanding paves the way for possible programs
in instruction, research and faculty development among the faculty
of both institutions as well as a student exchange arrangement.
Moscow’s First Deputy Mayor, Lyudmila Shvetsova, will speak
at a lunch hosted by UH President Jay Gogue and his wife, Susie.
President Gogue will offer welcoming remarks.
In addition to the deputy mayor, the Russian delegation will include
Vitaliy Vladimirovich Roubtsov, president of the Moscow City University
of Psychology and Pedagogics, and Leonid Govorov, president of the
Moscow Chamber of Trade and Industry.
The delegation also is scheduled to tour NASA, the M.D. Anderson
Cancer Center, the Port of Houston and the Museum District.
