TOP TALENTS RAISE CURTAIN ON NEW THEATER
CLASS AT UH
For theater students, practice makes perfect … especially
when they’re practicing with renowned stage veterans.
The University of Houston’s School of Theatre has always
made it a point to invite top talents to work alongside students.
Now, it’s offering its students another opportunity to learn
from some of America’s finest theater professionals through
its Seminar in Professional Theatre Practice.
This series of lectures and workshops is currently running from
1 – 2:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays in the Lyndall Finley
Wortham Theatre . Guest lecturers include costume designer Desmond
Heeley, scenic designer Marjorie Bradley Kellogg, Tony Award-winning
actress Elizabeth Ashley and Obie Award-winning director Marshall
W. Mason.
“I have always thought that the great talents of this generation
should be teaching the potential talents of the next,” said
Sidney Berger, director of the School of Theatre. “While we
have many well-traveled faculty members, this lecture series offers
even further insight into the world of professional theater from
those who know it best.”
The seminar is part of the School of Theatre’s fall semester
