AIM TECHNOLOGY OFFICER DEANE TO ADDRESS
CURRENT BUSINESS TRENDS IN UH BAUER COLLEGE SPEECH
Business expert John Deane will speak extemporaneously about current
industry issues to a group of students from the University of Houston’s
Bauer College of Business Oct. 26.
He is a senior vice president for A I M Management Group Inc. and
chief technology officer for AMVESCAP PLC.
His lecture is part of the college’s Distinguished Leaders
Series (DLS).
Deane joined AIM in 1997 from J.P. Morgan. His 20 years of information
systems management experience came at firms including Morgan Stanley
Group and Salomon Brothers. Additionally, he was a partner with
PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he consulted with brokerages, banks
and other firms in the financial services industry. Deane graduated
with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s
of business administration from SUNY-Albany. He served in the United
States Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Previous DLS speakers included World Bank Poverty Reduction Director
John Page, PriceWaterhouseCoopers Global CEO Sam DiPiazza, and Billy
M. Atkinson Jr., presiding officer of the Texas State Board of Public
Accountancy.
DLS provides students, alumni and faculty exposure to business
and community leaders, bridging academic teachings on leadership
and ethics with the real world of business.
