Yusef Komunyakaa and Kevin Young Readings
The Margarett Root Brown Houston Reading Series, co-sponsored by Inprint and the University of Houston, begins 2004 with two exceptional authors, Yusef Komunyakaa and Kevin Young. Komunyakaa is a Pulitzer Prize-winning author of poetry and Young is currently the Ruth Lilly Professor of Poetry at Indiana University. Yusef Komunyakaa and Kevin Young Readings, 7:30 p.m., Jan. 26. Blaffer Gallery: “Trespassing: Houses x Artists”
“Trespassing: Houses x Artists” features designs of houses imagined by nine contemporary artists in collaboration with New York-based architecture firm, OpenOffice. The artists were free to rethink the house as a spatial and social entity and the projects are presented through a variety of strategies including models, sketches, digital media and/or full-scale realization. “Trespassing: Houses x Artists.” Exhibit runs through Mar. 14.
