Community Garden

Location: On the corner of Wheeler Ave. and Cullen Blvd. next to the Cougar Woods dining hall.

The Campus Community Garden is an all organic garden run by the Office of Sustainability. The garden provides fresh vegetables and herbs to low income community members, and provides educational opportunities to neighborhood schools. Volunteers are needed to help plant seeds, weed beds, water plants, and other gardening tasks.

Project C.U.R.E.

Location: 10250 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77042

Project C.U.R.E. provides donated medical supplies and equipment to developing countries around the world. Volunteers are need to help with sorting and packaging donated medical supplies at the Houston warehouse location.

Ronald McDonald House

Location: 1907 Holcombe Blvd, Houston, TX 77030

The Ronald McDonald House houses families of children facing life threatening conditions, including cancer and those in need or organ transplant. MVP volunteers will interact with children being treated in Houston area hospitals by playing games and doing arts and crafts.

The Beacon

Location: 1212 Prairie St, Houston, TX 77002

The Beacon Day Center provides hot meals, showers, laundry services, and case management to Houston’s underserved and homeless population. Volunteers will provide hands-on support to the city’s homeless through a variety of activities including food preparation, patient sign-in, and laundry.

Generation One Academy

Generation One is a non-profit agency in Houston's third ward that provides after school programs for elementary school students. Volunteers are needed to tutor the students and supervise various sports activities.
