Arrow Academy

The Arrow Academy after school program provides after school care, activities, and homework help to elementary school students in the third ward. Volunteers are needed to help students with homework and other after school activities.

Transportation will be provided. All volunteers will meet and depart from the front of the Student Center.

Service Nights

Location: Student Center South Space City Room 214

Join us as we will be making PB&J sandwiches and blankets for the homeless, writing heartfelt holiday cards for hospital patients and veterans, and making dog toys for animals shelters around the Houston community! Students who are interested will be given the opportunity to distribute the sandwiches with the MVP team at the Houston Public Library!

Kipp Academy

Rock The Block

Join MVP as we participate in our largest event of the year to celebrate our local community on Keep Houston Beautiful Day. Volunteers are needed to assist with neighborhood clean-up, lot clearing, painting houses, hosting games as well as a block party for kids, garden building projects, and much more! Volunteers will receive a free shirt and lunch will be provided!

NON PROFIT & GOVERNMENTAL JOB FAIR

Location: Student Center Ballroom

Students will be assisting employers and students with setting up, running, and breaking down the career fair. Some duties include:

  • Arranging name badges, pens, markers, sign-in sheets
  • Marking off each student on the sign-in sheet as they enter
  • Showing caterers where to set up
  • Greeting employers and taking lunch tickets
  • Reminding/collecting evaluations from employers before the end of the event

*Note: This event has 3 shifts, but students can stay and volunteer for as many shifts as they would like.

Bering Omega Day Treatment Center

The Bering Omega Day Treatment Center provides services and activities to individuals in the Houston area infected by HIV/AIDS. Volunteers are needed to interact with patients in activities such as card games, crafts, and conversations.

Transportation will be provided. All volunteers will meet and depart from the front of the Student Center at 8:30 am.

GRADUATING SENIORS & ALUMNI NETWORKING RECEPTION

Location: Student Center Ballroom
