Generation One Academy

Generation One is a non-profit agency in Houston's third ward that provides after school programs for elementary school students. Volunteers are needed to tutor the students and supervise various sports activities.

Rock the Campus

Location: Butler Plaza (in between PGH and the MD Anderson Library)

Show your Cougar pride by participating in a campus cleanup and help keep University of Houston beautiful. Volunteers are needed for various on campus projects such as landscaping, gardening and much more. Be sure to show your support and come out to beautify the campus surroundings! Join us for music, food and Pumpkin Carving competition hosted by UH Habitat for Humanity at Lynn Eusan Park after the cleanup. All volunteers will receive lunch and shirts. Hunger & Homeless Awareness Week

November is the National Hunger and Homeless Awareness Month and MVP is bringing its very first Hunger and Homeless Awareness Week to University of Houston. Houston is one of the top cities that have a high priority for homelessness therefore MVP has decided to dedicate a weeklong service events in hope to raise awareness among our community and help those in need. Houston Food Bank

The Houston Food Bank works to end hunger in the Houston community. Volunteers are needed to help sort and package food items that will be distributed to food pantries and charities in the Houston area. For questions, please contact Emily Johnson.

The Beacon

Location: 1212 Prairie St, Houston, TX 77002

The Beacon Day Center provides hot meals, showers, laundry services, and case management to Houston’s underserved and homeless population. Volunteers will provide hands-on support to the city’s homeless through a variety of activities including food preparation, patient sign-in, and laundry.

Bingo with Seniors

Bingo with Seniors at the Salvation Army is a chance for volunteers to interact with senior citizens in the Houston community. Volunteers are needed to supervise Bingo games, hand out prizes, and talk with the seniors. Transportation will be provided. For questions, please contact Emily Johnson.
