When did you start volunteering with MVP and what made you want to get involved?
I started volunteering with MVP in November with my first event being the Houston Food Bank. I loved the teamwork and I was looking for new ways to get involved in the community.
Why is community service important to you?
I have been blessed with a fortunate life and I believe that it is my responsibility to lead others in bringing the community together to support families and beautify the community.
What was your favorite MVP service event and why?
My favorite event was The Beacon because even though I was only washing dishes, I experienced a rejuvenation of self-esteem and motivation as people battled to change their habits.
What advice or suggestions would you give someone who is on the fence about volunteering with MVP?
Just do it! I joined not knowing anyone in MVP and I have made many new friends along the way.
If you could do any type of service in the world what would your dream service activity be?
My goal is to become not only a dentist, but to become a leader in the community. I would like to go on dental mission trips because I like the confidence patients receive when they come in crying because of pain and leave crying for joy.
