Please meet inside the front of the Student Center 15 minutes prior to the start time of the event, and we will carpool to the site at 10:30am.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston strives to empower low-income youth through their multi-faceted approach to youth development. Volunteers will participate in a variety of youth engagement activities such as outdoor play, arts & crafts, board games, and tutoring.

Volunteers for this event will meet at the benches besides the entrance of the Student Center 15 minutes before the start time of the event to sign waivers. At the start time of the event, we will then proceed to carpool to the Allen Parkway club.

Community Garden

Garden outside of Cougar Woods dining hall

The Community Garden is a collaboration with the Office of Sustainability that donates its crops to the Third Ward. Volunteers are needed to aid in the up-keeping of the garden through weeding, planting, and harvesting along with any other gardening activities.

Generation One

In an effort to end generational poverty within the Third Ward, Generation One provides an after-school program in which volunteers will assist with tutoring and other youth enrichment activities such as dance, board games, sports, and crafts.

Volunteers for this event will meet at the benches besides the entrance of the Student Center 15 minutes before the start time of the event to sign waivers. At the start time of the event, we will then proceed to carpool to Generation One.

Hermann Park

Hermann Park is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the stewardship and improvement of the park. Volunteers are needed to plant trees and aid in the beautification of the park.

Houston Public Library Book Warehouse

The Friends of the Houston Public Library aim to support the community and the central Houston Public Library through donations and book sales throughout the year. At the Book Warehouse, volunteers will sort/scan recycled books and assist with various other warehouse projects in order to facilitate the Friends' mission.

Volunteers for this event will meet at the benches besides the entrance of the Student Center 15 minutes before the start time of the event to sign waivers. At the start time of the event, we will then proceed to carpool to the book warehouse.

Medical Bridges

Medical Bridges has the mission to connect the healthcare gap worldwide by procuring and distributing medical equipment and supplies to underserved communities. Volunteers are needed to sort out donated medical supplies in preparation for shipment to those in need in developing countries. For questions, please contact Sandra Gonzalez.

Prevent Blindness Texas

Established in 1956 and incorporated in 1965, Prevent Blindness Texas is the state's leading voluntary eye health and safety organization dedicated to preventing blindness and preserving sight. Volunteers will be helping with in office assistance. For questions, please contact Sandra Gonzalez.

Rock the Campus - Volunteer

Butler Plaza, Lynn Eusan Park

Rock the Campus is MVP’s signature service event that takes place during Homecoming week! 

Volunteers will meet at Lynn Eusan park to check in and be dispersed into groups to be a part of one of the largest campus clean ups.

Two shifts are available from 9:00 am and 10:00am. A free t-shirt, and lunch will be provided.
