UH to Host Events in Celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Legacy

The University of Houston community will have the opportunity to celebrate and reflect on the legacy and life of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This year's theme "Uniting Together In Service" will feature a week of events focused on uniting communities to better serve others.

The MLK Celebration Committee composed of UH students, faculty and staff organized and planned several events that will take place January 16 – January 21. All events are free and open to the public.

Thursday, January 19

MLK Commemorative Celebration featuring Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner
4:00pm Student Center Theater

Mayor Sylvester Turner will speak on the importance of keeping hope alive and uniting together to serve others.
