Community Involvement
One of the founding goals of the UH-MAES student chapter was to help other minority UH students succeed in college. As the years progressed, our goal has extended to assisting students of the elementary through high school levels as well. Through various outreach programs, UH-MAES strives to help the community in the effort to encourage college enrollment among our youth and spark interest in the mathematics, scientific, and engineering fields.
Our Chapter
The student chapter of the Society of Mexican American Engineers and Scientists at the University of Houston has been in existence for 30 years and counting. In the past three decades, the chapter has flourished under the watchful eyes of dedicated and talented students and has become one of the leading student organizations in the Houston area.
