Emergency
In the event of an emergency, please call 911 or campus police at 713-743-3333.
These departments will serve as immediate responders and will ensure that you are out of harm's way.
Once your acute situation is resolved, you are encourage you to seek further help for yourself as appropriate. Please see the Support Resources section included on this page for further information.
Other Crises
Many crises situations do not involve imminent danger, but may require professional assistance from or involvement by the university.
If you believe your situation is based in or related to discriminatory behavior or circumstances, you are encouraged to contact the Office of Equal Opportunity Services for consultation. EOS provides confidential services protecting individuals filing complaints.
Support Resources
University of Houston Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS)
The University of Houston Counseling and Psychological Services offers members of the UH community with a safe and comforting atmosphere in which students, staff, and faculty may disclose their feelings, problems, and situations in a confidential environment.
CAPS offers a variety of services including daytime and after hours crisis intervention. CAPS also offers a variety of referral services, including: Alcohol and Drug Treatment Services; Asperger's Support; Community Support; General Counseling Services; Staff-only Counseling Services; Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Support Services; Eating Disorder Services; Hearing Impairment Accessible Services; Off-Campus Psychiatric Support; Other Crisis Information
