KUHF 88.7FM is a not-for-profit, listener-supported radio station licensed
to the board of regents of the University of Houston System and housed as
a component of the College of Humanities, Fine Arts and Communication.
KUHF-FM is affiliated with National Public Radio and Public Radio International.
It is certified by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, employing twenty-four
full-time professionals in the fields of studio production and announcing,
news gathering and writing, marketing and fundraising, and administration
and accounting.
KUHF-FM Radio is a major component of the outreach of the University of
Houston System. As such, the station provides the community at large with
a public service broadcast schedule of classical music and news, twenty-four
hours a day. KUHF-FM is committed to the following:-
maintaining the highest possible professional standards of program content,
presentation and technical quality within the broadcast industry in affirmation
of its leadership role in the national public radio community, as measured
by the traditional standards of audience and budget size;

adding to the quality of life of the community by increasing the awareness
of the beauty, richness and depth of our cultural heritage through a broadly
diverse presentation of classical music;

giving its listeners a thoughtful, thorough and well-balanced coverage of
current events, personalities, and social, political and cultural issues
that affect them in their daily lives;

working as a full partner with community arts organizations to advance and
enrich the cultural life of the Houston area. This is accomplished through
ongoing coverage of arts-related activities within the community and broadcast
of classical musical concerts presented by community organizations;

promoting the rich cultural heritage and resources of Houston to a national
audience through network distribution of locally produced programs.
