KUHF-FM, as a not-for-profit, listener-supported radio station, broadcasts classical music and National Public Radio news to the Gulf Coast region. As a central part of its public service mission, KUHF-FM records concerts presented by a diverse cross-section of the Houston performing arts community and broadcasts them on Houston in Concert, Sundays at 1:00 pm. KUHF-FM provides national exposure to the performers by making these recordings available to NPR's Performance Today, broadcast Monday-Friday at 1:00 pm.

KUHF-FM is licensed by the Federal Communications Commission to the board of regents of the University of Houston. KUHF-FM broadcasts in stereo on a frequency of 88.7 MHz with 100,000 watts from an antenna 1,671 feet high. We provide our closed-circuit subcarrier to Houston Taping for the Blind Reading service. KUHF-FM is a pioneer in RBDS (Radio Broadcast Data Service), which can be received with a properly equipped radio.
