Debra Fraser has been KUHF's News Director for seven years and says she has the privilege of working with the most professional and dedicated broadcast journalists in the area. Debra joined KUHF in 1988 as a reporter and has seen the news department grow into "Houston's intelligent news choice." Debra guides her talented staff of reporters through daily spot news and features that are produced in a way unique to public radio. She is KUHF's local news anchor during All Things Considered each weekday afternoon. Debra is President of the Press Club of Houston. The group raises awareness of the important role of journalists in our community. The Club Foundation raises money for journalism scholarships; $30,000 will be awarded locally this year. When she's not working with reporters, Debra dedicates her time to doting on her six-year-old son, Justin, who keeps it all in perspective.
