The Moores School of Music Department of Preparatory and Continuing Studies (PCS) is a community music school offering private and group music instruction to students of all ages from all over the greater Houston area. Our engaging faculty consists of Moores School of Music faculty members, renowned music professionals, and graduate students who are completing internships as part of their degree programs. If you’re interested in lessons or classes with us, fill out our registration form or contact our office directly for more information.
An important part of the PCS mission is to support local music professionals and educators through professional development workshops and institutes, and to bring musical opportunities to underserved communities through outreach efforts.
Private & Group Instruction
We currently offer lessons in piano, violin, and voice. Students are given weekly lessons which may be thirty (30), forty-five (45), or sixty (60) minutes in duration. Instructors design lesson plans appropriate to the student's skill level; curriculum includes development of performance skills, technique, theory and general musicianship. We also provide group piano classes and honors piano classes. All lessons are taught in the Moores School of Music Building on the University of Houston main campus
