FIRST DAY OF CAMP

Residential Camper Information:

  1. Eat breakfast before arriving on-campus.
  2. Parents/guardians and campers should check-in at Cougar Village between 8:00–9:15am.
  3. Each camper will be given a room key. The parent/guardian is asked to walk through the dorm registration with the camper, see his/her room, and drop off luggage. Once the camper is settled in his/her room, parents are encouraged to depart campus.
  4. Campers who require daily medications should turn in all medicine in their original bottles. Place them in a plastic bag with dosing instructions during check-in. Our medical counselor will discharge medicine at all meals and before bed. It is the camper’s responsibility to take his/her medications.
  5. Residential campers have a meeting with their counselors at 9:30am. They will then walk across campus to begin their day.
  6. Camp administrative staff and/or counselors will be on hand at Cougar Village to answer any questions and to provide directions.

Day Camper Information:

  1. Eat breakfast before arriving on-campus.
  2. Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday: Campers should be dropped off at the Moores School of Music between 8:00–8:30am. Camp counselors and staff will help guide the campers.
  3. Saturday: Drop-off is at 9:00am.
  4. Pick up will be at 5:00pm each day on the driveway between the Moores School of Music and the Fine Arts Building. Counselors will help guide traffic.
  5. Day campers who drive themselves should print the parking pass (see “Parking" above) and use Lot 16.

LAST DAY OF CAMP

Dormitory Check-Out & Luggage:

  1. Rolling luggage is recommended. After counselors inspect each room for damage, campers will carry their own luggage to the Moores School of Music, and approximately 10-minute walk.
  2. Luggage will be stored in the Moores School during the final concert and BBQ lunch. It may be retrieved any time after the concert.

Final Concert & BBQ Lunch

  1. On Saturday at 11:30am, residential and day campers will perform a final concert that culminates the week’s learning in the world-class Moores Opera House (located in the Moores School of Music). Admission is free, and family and friends are encouraged to attend.
  2. A catered BBQ lunch will be provided immediately afterward. Camper tickets are included in their tuition. Others may request/purchase a ticket for $15 during check-in. Those who purchase tickets at the door will pay $20/plate, and we only accept cash.

Meals:

  1. Residential campers will be provided all meals starting with Wednesday lunch.
  2. Day campers will be served lunch each day.
  3. We may every effort to offer appropriate vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free meals, but just in case we don’t offer something to a camper’s liking, we recommend packing extra snacks.

Contacting Your Child:

Leaving Camp Early:

  1. Campers may not leave early except in pre-approved instances. Those requests should be made through the camp office in advance.
  2. Parents/guardians should pick up their child from the camp office before leaving the premises. A staff member or counselor must visually confirm the pick-up.
  3. These procedures help ensure every child’s safety.

Loss of Items and Theft:

  1. Campers should keep their rooms locked at all times and never leave items unattended.
  2. Cougar Choir Camp cannot be held responsible for campers’ personal money or other assets which may be misplaced or stolen.
