A New Home for Big Ideas

UH’s developing innovation campus at the Energy Research Park is home to office and industrial space devoted to bringing UH technologies to market. Across from Downtown Houston, our campus provides resources and facilities to support developing startups through the valley of death through a successful launch.

The Spur

The UH Innovation Center and Labs – known as The Spur – provides office incubator space and lab testing facilities to support rising innovations. Located at the Energy Research Park, these facilities are surrounding by manufacturing and technology commercialization efforts currently underway at UH, creating a hub of entrepreneurial activity for startups.




Cavu Biotherapies

Colleen O'Connor is dedicated to helping our pets stay healthy and live longer. Her company Cavu Biotherapies works to reprogram canine T cells to fight cancer with the support and resources at the UH Innovation Center and Lab.




The entrepreneurs at Sensytec are making the cement that supports our city's infrastructure smarter. With direction and mentorship from the Innovation Center, these young researchers are putting their technology in front of real-world problems.


The next expansion of the UH’s innovation campus involves the development of the region’s largest makerspace, the FabLab. The makerspace will provide equipment and technology to support hand-on learning and the exploration of new ideas.
