Lync Training and Documentation
To help you master Lync, we have user guides, training videos, hands-on training and lecture-based sessions. Hands-on sessions last 2 hours and are offered on an ongoing basis during our migration to Lync. Our hands-on session is recommended to help get you started using unified communication tools. To request a special session for your department, send an email to lyncdeploy@uh.edu. Macintosh and lecture-based sessions are available by request.
Our training schedule is posted here every Thursday for the upcoming week.
No RSVP. First-come, first-served.
Our spanking new Lync phone training room is being assembled as I type!
Located in Tech Commons in the basement on the backside of the MD Anderson Library it is easy to access.
As for posting a new schedule, my hands are tied. I think we'll be ready the week of October 7. I may not post a schedule before it's time.
Lync for Mac Announcement
The most recent version of Lync for Mac (14.05) is not stable. During Mac to Mac communication, dropped calls and calls going directly to voice mail are common. Microsoft is aware and working on a fix. If Microsoft's update tool automatically upgraded you to version 14.05, we recommend a downgrade. For information on how to downgrade, see
Lync for Mac Downgrade – 14.05 to 14.04 [pdf].
