Maintaining the Recovery Plan

Purpose

To ensure effectiveness of the Recovery Plan, a department must review and update the Recovery Plan to reflect pertinent operational changes.

Scope

Departmental managers.

Process Overview

In addition to updating the plan from testing results, plans are also updated as a normal course of operations when changes in business, organization, staffing, processes, and technology require them. When developing a strategy for maintaining the Recovery Plan:

1. Establish review criteria.
2. Update the plan, as necessary.
3. Define plan distribution and security.
