Purpose
To maximize the availability of information, and protect against its loss, a department should have a strategy for data back-up and recovery.
Scope
Departmental management, technology staff, and users.
Process Overview
- Conduct a risk assessment to identify critical information resources.
- Develop a strategy to safeguard essential information. The strategy
should include a:
- Schedule based on risk assessment or risk cost/benefit analysis
- Back-up method
- Process to test back up and recovery strategy
