Pop-up Instructions for Supported Browsers

To allow pop-ups for FIREFOX:

1. Go to the "Firefox" menu.
2. Select the submenu "Preferences."
3. Click on "Web Features" from the left panel.
4. Click on "Allow Websites" button for "Block Pop-up Windows" (No need to uncheck "Block Pop-up Windows," you only want to add this site to the "Allow Websites" button).
5. In the "Address of website" field, type remedyweb.uh.edu.
6. Click the "Allow" button.
7. Click OK to exit the "Allowed Sites."
8. Click OK to exit the "Web Features."

To allow pop-ups for FIREFOX for Windows:

1. Go to the "Tools" menu.
2. Select the submenu "Internet Options."
3. Click on "Web Features" from the left panel.
4. Click on "Allow Websites" button for "Block Pop-up Windows" (No need to uncheck "Block Pop-up Windows," you only want to add this site to the "Allow Websites" button).
5. In the "Address of website" field, type remedyweb.uh.edu.
6. Click the "Allow" button.
7. Click OK to exit the "Allowed Sites."
8. Click OK to exit the "Web Features."

To allow pop-ups for INTERNET EXPLORER:

1. Go to the "Tools" menu.
2. Select the submenu "Internet Options."
3. Select the "Privacy" tab.
4. Click the "Settings" button.
5. In the "Address of Website to allow" field, type remedyweb.uh.edu.
6. Click the "Add" button.
7. Click Close on the "Pop-up Blockers Settings" screen.
8. Click OK to the "Internet Options" screen.

To allow pop-ups for MOZILLA:

1. Go to the "Mozilla" menu.
2. Select the submenu "Preferences."
3. Click on the arrow next to "Privacy & Security" to expand.
4. Click on submenu "Popup Windows."
5. Click on the "Allowed Sites" button.
6. In the "Allow popups from the following web sites:" field, type remedyweb.uh.edu.
7. Click on the "Add" button to add the site to the list.
8. Click OK to exit "Allowed Web Sites."
9. Click OK to exit "Preferences, Popup Windows."

To allow pop-ups for NETSCAPE 7.2 for Macintosh:

1. Go to the "Netscape" menu.
2. Select the submenu "Preferences."
3. Click on the arrow next to "Privacy & Security" to expand.
4. Click on submenu "Popup Windows."
5. Click on the "Allowed Sites" button. If the "Allowed Sites" button is grayed out, click to check the "Block unrequested popup windows."
6. In the "Allow popups from the following web sites:" field, type remedyweb.uh.edu.
7. Click on the "Add" button to add the site to the list.
8. Click OK to exit "Allowed Web Sites."
9. Click OK to exit "Preferences, Popup Windows."

To allow popups for NETSCAPE 8.0.2 and above for Windows:

Through a setting called "Site Controls," the Netscape Browser allows you to set certain options for specific sites. To configure the browser for Netscape 8.0.2, enter the site as a RETURNING user or a FIRST-TIME user and go to the pop-up blocker icon which looks like double windows as shown below.

You will then see the following window which reads "Site Controls for remedyweb.uh.edu." Under the "Browser Settings" section, select the "Custom Settings" radio button. Under the "Rendering Engine" section, select "Internet Explorer" radio button.

Next, click the "Advanced" tab. Make sure all check marks are selected, except for "Open requested pop-ups in a new tab."

Click the "Done" button.
