Downloading and Installing McAfee VirusScan for Windows

Click on the name of the anti-virus software you want to download.
In the File Download window, click the Save button.
Create a new folder or select the existing folder in which the anti-virus file is to be saved. NOTE: It should be a folder you will be able to find in the future.
Click the Save button to download the anti-virus file.
When the download is complete, click on the Open Folder button.

To unzip the software to prepare to install it:
- Double-click on the anti-virus software file that has been downloaded to the folder.
- In the WinZip Self-Extractor window, click the Unzip button.
- After the files have been unzipped successfully, click OK, then click Close.
If you have a different anti-virus software already installed on your computer, whether it is a different version of McAfee or a different software package from another vendor, you MUST uninstall it before installing the software you just downloaded.

Select the folder in which the files were unzipped, and double-click on Setup.exe.
In the Setup window, click the Next button.
In the Licensing window, click on "I accept the terms in the license agreement," then click OK.
For Select Setup Type, click Typical, then click the Next button.
Click the Install button to begin installation.
After the setup has completed successfully, options are displayed for automatically updating your virus definition files and scanning your computer for viruses. Verify both options are turned on, then click the Finish button.
Your virus definitions are updated with the latest files to protect your computer from new viruses, and then a scan of your computer begins to identify any existing viruses it may already have.
