Daylight Saving Time Issues

Last updated: March 07, 2007

Note: This story may not be current. It is part of the IT News Archive, and exists as a historical document.

2007 daylight saving time (DST) occurs three weeks earlier (Sunday, March 11) and ends one week later (Sunday, November 4) than in prior years.

This change has the potential to cause problems for UH computers and other devices that require time/date accuracy. The good news: any negative affects from the new dates will result in (at worst) an inconvenience.

Information Technology has identified several DST-related issues that could present problems for UH customers. Go to the DST Web site for specific information about these issues.

You can also obtain information and assistance by contacting your local IT support person, or by contacting the IT Support Center at 713.743.1411 (email: support@uh.edu).
