Actions and Root Causes

Our campus wireless team assisted the WLAN vendor with their hardware investigation. Once that was completed the primary controller was placed back into production service. Analysts then monitored the equipment for performance issues during the next twenty-seven hours. No additional wireless client issues have developed.

Event Updates

DisruptedWireless service to a portion of our campus was negatively impacted by a controller.

Clients were being dropped from connection and service sets became unavailable. Buildings 502, 519, 524, 525, 550, 560, 576, 586, 588, and the Law Center were impacted. A backup controller was placed into production. Monitored views began to show good client response after that change. Once our wireless vendor has reviewed the controller logs and completed their investigatory processes  the affected controller will be returned to service by the wireless team.
