- Personnel Policies
The purpose of this section is to outline policies related to MIS personnel.
- Normal Work Hours
The MIS department is officially open from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. All staff are expected to be at work during this time unless a different time schedule is negotiated with their immediate supervisor and approved by the director. The request to work hours different than the norm must be on file with the departmental administrator.
- Leave Requests
All leave should be requested with as much advance notice as possible using the MIS LEAVE REQUEST FORM. In the event of an illness or emergency that requires an absence, the immediate supervisor should be notified of the absence as soon as possible. The MIS LEAVE REQUEST FORM should be completed upon returning to work.
- Overtime
Any overtime should be worked and compensated in accordance with UH-System Administrative Memoranda #02.B.02.
- University Attendance
Personnel may to attend classes in accordance with University policy so long as attendance does not interfere with the employees work schedule or job performance. Should the employee wish to attend a class during his normal work schedule, he may do so in accordance to the rules established in section 7.1.1. In addition, the employee may request 3 hours per week to attend classes, without loss of compensation, if approved in accordance with the University's guidelines for the State Employees Training Act of 1969.
