  • Research Finds No Easy Answers to Use of Drug Screening for Pain Patients

    Doctors who treat patients suffering from chronic pain face a quandary, according to research from the University of Houston and the University of Texas Medical Branch. Monitoring patients through urine drug screenings, part of the standard protocol to ensure patient safety, is associated with an increase in the odds that the patients won’t return for future treatment.

  • ‘Your Brain on Art’ Dance Performance Set for Friday

    The latest in a series of artistic collaborations with a University of Houston engineer is set for 5:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, when three dancer-choreographers will perform while their brain activity is recorded.

  • UH Honors College Welcomes John Briggs as 2016 Lence Master Teacher

    Distinguished scholar John Briggs has focused research on two famous (yet very different) wordsmiths – Abraham Lincoln and William Shakespeare. Soon, the professor of English at University of California, Riverside will share his insights on the president, the playwright and other topics as the 2016 Ross M. Lence Master Teacher.
