Employee Assistance Program
The University of Houston's Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a service that is designed to help employees find balance between their personal and professional life. The EAP is available to all faculty and staff and provides free and confidential access to:
Licensed Counselors
Speak with an EAP counselor in person on a wide array of topics, including:
- Family or marital problems
- Stress
- Alcohol or drug problems
- Birth or child rearing
Financial Advisers
Speak over the phone with a financial adviser to get advice in such areas as:
- Retirement planning
- Personal budgeting
- Debt consolidation
- IRS question
Legal Services
Access online tools, resources, and glossaries in such areas as:
- Criminal Law
- Elder Law
- Family & Divorce
- Hiring a Lawyer
You will be required to log into the EAP website and provide the university’s password to access these tools. Please contact the HR Service Center if you need the password to the EAP website (713-743-3988). Referral Services
Looking for a roofer in Houston? Or, an assisted living facility in Michigan? Use the EAP’s online or over-the-phone referral services to help you find local or national professionals and businesses to meet your needs.
The referral service will need your contact information and your search parameters or requirements. After a few business days, you will receive a call or email with a list of businesses that may best meet your needs!

Online Development Tools
The EAP offers a wide array of tools, online seminars, and resources to help you develop yourself both personally and professionally. Areas covered include:
- Parenting
- Aging
- Life balancing

Online Savings Center
Enjoy the convenience of shopping online while saving money. The online savings center provides you with exculsive access to discounts on everything from fruit baskets, to jewelry, to the latest electronics. The "outstanding offers" are smoking hot and go quickly, so check daily!
You will be required to log in through EAP website and set up your savings center account (instructions are online); however, no credit card or other financial information is required.
