STEP 2: Leadership Basics


Supervisor Training Enrichment Program

for supervisors and managers

Learning & Talent Development (LTD), a division of Human Resources, is excited to present the series STEP 2 (Supervisor Training Enrichment Program) to staff and faculty.

Step 2 is designed for new and developing supervisors and managers. (It is independent from the Step 1 program and may be taken before or after Step 1.)  Step 2 focuses on leadership and interpersonal skills. STEP 2 is offered 2 to 3 times per year.

The six weekly modules include:

  1. Introduction to Leadership  
  2. Understanding your Leadership Style*                  
  3. Coaching Others                                                                             
  4. Motivating Others                                                          
  5. Planning and Delegating Effectively                                       
  6. Building and Leading an Effective Team

 Modules are three hours in length and are taught by Learning and Talent Development staff.

 A schedule of courses and registration information is emailed at the start of each semester to staff offices across campus. If you would like to be included on the distribution list, please email Christine Donovan -                                  


  • Supervise employees
  • Commit to attend all modules (one absence allowed)
  • Have an interest in obtaining & developing leadership knowledge

*Please be aware there is a $30 fee for completion of the Myers Briggs Personality Survey. If you have taken it previously and can bring your results, you won’t need to take again.
