Effective Business Writing Workshop
The Effective Business
Writing workshop is designed
with individual staff
members, assistants, team
leaders, supervisors,
managers and executives in
mind – anyone who wishes to
create more effective
written communications and
improve the impact of their
writing on clients and
co-workers.
This highly interactive
workshop is designed to help
the business communicator
better understand the
purpose of the
communication, the needs of
their reader, and the
standards and conventions of
business communication.
Topics also include avoiding
common grammatical mistakes,
improving preparation and
organizational skills, and
basic editing. Participants
will have the opportunity to
write and revise real-world
documents during the
workshop.
Participants will learn
to:

in reports, memos, e-mail,
and letters
• Understand the levels of
communication
• Critique their own writing
style
• Write a clear purpose
statement
• Determine means to
communicate effectively
• Review important skills
relating to grammar and
composition
