Ann McFarland, LMSW-AP
Director, Office of Community Projects
Years of UH Service:
17.5 years
College:
Graduate College of Social Work
How to Contact Me:
713-743-8145 or
amcfarland@uh.edu
Where to Find Me:
Social Work Building - 444
When to Call Me:
When you need a program evaluation, needs assessment,
social work continuing education and the list goes on....or someone to keep all of the plates twirling in the air without falling...
Helpful Hint:
Take time to listen to your staff. Have a sense of humor. When you have an upsetting situation,
sleep on it over night and usually a more rational outcome will result.
What I Like Best About My Job:
I never know what each day will bring whether working with the community
or with UH folks or it could be a surprise. That's what makes it fun.
What Ann’s Colleagues Say:
Joe Papick says that “Ms. McFarland has been
an integral part of OCP for over 10 years
and has had a positive impact on the Houston
community as well as the university. She is
active in staff issues and a very positive
administrator.”
After reading the
article, Sandra Semiens shared her agreement with Joe and added that Ann
supervised Sandra for 8 1/2 years. "Her door was always open. There
was no favoritism, and she always had an open ear, no matter what the problem might have been." |
