MINIMUM WAGE
The federal minimum wage is changing to $7.25 per hour effective July 24, 2009. The Fair Minimum Wage Act of 2007 increased the federal minimum wage from $5.15 to $7.25 in three separate 70 cent increases over three years. This is the third and final change mandated by the current regulations.

Employees in an exempt job are paid a monthly salary of at least $1971.66 per month, regardless of FTE. The FLSA does not make allowances for part time exempt employees. All exempt jobs that an employee has at UH are added together to meet the minimum monthly salary requirement.
