New faculty members can request a childcare slot at the Childcare Center on campus.

Program Quality / Standards of Excellence

High quality early childhood education benefits children. Children who experience a quality program are more likely to have greater academic success, enhanced self-esteem and increased self-control. UHCCC aligns the program and curriculum with national ( www.naeyc.org & www.advanc-ed.org) and state guidelines and is licensed by Texas Department of Family & Protective Services.

Facility hours are 7:00 am - 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts are available to benefits-eligible employees. It allows employees to deduct money from their salary before taxes and places the money into an account to pay for child care or elderly care expenses. New employees must enroll in a dependent care account within 31 days of their hire date and current employees must do so during open enrollment. It is irrevocable for the plan year unless there is a qualifying family status change which allows you to enroll, cancel, or change the amount of your reimbursement account. A change form must be submitted within 30 days of the family status change to initiate the change. Any money not used by the end of the fiscal year is forfeited.
