Human Resources has seen many personnel changes in the last six months. Here are the highlights:
New:
Ashley Waggoner: Senior Employment Rep
Ashley comes to us with three years of recruitment and staffing experience, with an additional four years of management and event planning. She has brought a lot of energy and enthusiasm to our Employment area and her skills are an excellent complement to those of our other senior employment rep, Clausezette Davis.
Carmen Fairbanks: Human Resources Online Training Technician
Carmen brings with her three years of database administration as well as experience as an administrative assistant. She is currently working on a Master’s degree in Organizational Development. Her former employers include UH Clear Lake and we're glad to have her here with us on the main campus, where she can put her technical skills to good use in our training department.
Melissa Abram-Jackson: Senior Human Resource Training Specialist
Melissa has worked for UH for twelve years, most recently in the Office of the Dean of Students, where she was the primary hearing officer for student conduce. She has experience providing training to multiple student groups and professional staff on a variety of topics. Most recently she coordinated training sessions for faculty, staff and students on customer service and dealing with difficult behavior. She is now broadening her horizons by developing and leading HR training sessions.
Julie Marlowe: Functional Analyst 3
Julie has over twenty years of experience at UH and was most recently the coordinator of payroll and human resources for the College of Education. We're excited to have this power-user on our team, helping review and improve PeopleSoft functionality.
Lori Kauniste: Senior Compensation Analyst
Lori has over ten years of Human Resources experience and a Master's in Organizational Management. With her background in compensation analysis, PeopleSoft query-writing and employee relations, she is a true asset to our compensation team.
Dormese Senegal: Benefits Assistant
Dormese joins our Benefits team this month. She has fifteen years of customer service, accounting and office experience. We love her can-do attitude and are glad to have her on board.

Ann Pino:Human Resources Manager
Ann has been with UH for fifteen years and is starting her third year in HR. In her new role she will be managing employment, immigration, the service center, and HR communications.
Yuliana Sauceda: Benefits Coordinator
Yuliana has been with UH HR for one year, working at the Service Center. She will now be working in Benefits, where her Spanish fluency will make her a special asset to the team.
Alejandra Rodriguez: Payroll Administrator
Alejandra has been at UH for nine years and has been in HR for three years. Her meticulous work as a data control clerk recently earned her a promotion into payroll administration.
Departed:
Juanita Virgin: Benefits Assistant
After twenty years at UH, Juanita has retired. She remains well-loved by her many UH friends, who will miss her cheerful assistance in Benefits.
Cody Pelletier: HR Manager
After nearly four years with UH, Cody has is now pursuing opportunities in California.
Cristina Sanchez: Benefits Coordinator
Cristina's four-year tenure at UH has included working as an HR Data Control Clerk, an Employment Rep, and a Benefits Coordinator. She will now be a recruiter for British Petroleum.
Anna Schauman: HR Generalist
After nearly four years working in Affirmative Action and then in HR, Anna has accepted an offer to head the human resources department for an area law firm.
Arturo Tapia: HR Training Coordinator
After nine years in UH HR, Arturo is going to school full time. We're very excited for him.
Cari Baugh: Senior HR Training Specialist
Popular trainer Cari was given an opportunity to return to the corporate world. We wish her the best.
