Lost Your Health Insurance Card?

LifeSuite Services

LifeSuite Services are designed for employees of state agencies or higher education institutions who are insured under the group life insurance program administered by Minnesota Life Insurance Company. Important Update for Nexium Users  

Usually, when a generic medicine is available, HealthSelectSM of Texas requires that participants take the generic or pay more for the brand-name medicine. At this time, however, the Employees Retirement of Texas (ERS) is asking HealthSelect participants to continue taking brand-name prescription Nexium.

Nexium is a brand-name medicine that treats certain stomach and esophagus problems. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration requires that generic medicine works exactly the same as brand-name medicine. Usually, when a generic medicine is available, HealthSelectSM of Texas requires that participants take the generic or pay more for the brand-name medicine. At this time, however, the Employees Retirement of Texas (ERS) is asking HealthSelect participants to continue taking brand-name prescription Nexium.

For the next few months, HealthSelect participants can continue to use brand-name prescription Nexium and pay the generic copay of $10 for a 30-day supply or $30 for a 90-day supply. This exception is temporary and applies only to prescription Nexium

Time to Update Your PASS Account

Happy New Year! We want to get your tax information to you quickly and accurately this January, and you can help us by going into PASS through AccessUH or going to http://my.uh.edu and selecting Personal Information. Here you can review and update:

  • Name
  • Home Address
  • Email Address

If you started your employment at UH under a new Social Security Number, please also review your Personal Information Summary. If we do not have your permanent SSN, bring your Social Security card and a photo ID to the HR Service Center at 325 McElhinney.

Did you know? You can save time and make 2015 a little greener by marking your January calendar to download your W-2 from PASS. Watch your email and the HR Home Page to find out when your tax forms are ready.

eTermination

The eTermination Checklist is a new online feature that allows employees to electronically track tasks associated to departing the institution. The checklist will identify items specific to the employee that need to be returned prior to leaving, such as: Parking passes, keys, T-Card/P-Card, equipment, and more. For more details, please see our eTermination Training. Please note that eTermination is at present only available for benefits-eligible employees.

Database Split

On October 20, the university system will separate the PeopleSoft Student database and the PeopleSoft HR database, which were previously housed on the same server. To facilitate the split, PeopleSoft will be down on October 18 and 19. Queries and web clocks will also be down, but TCDs will remain active. When the system comes back up on October 20, users will find that the blue HR&CS icon is gone and access to all HR functionality will be through PASS. Learn More>>

Skillport on AccessUH

Skillport offers a variety of online training materials, all free to UH staff and faculty. We have recently made it easier to use Skillport by adding it to the AccesUH page, so log in and give it a try!

Student Hiring

Hiring a UH student is a great way to help our students gain valuable work experience, and it contributes to student retention and graduation. Create your student position in PeopleSoft using the ePRF process, then go to Career Services and post. It’s that easy!

Project Management or Six Sigma Certification Preparation Through UH eLearning (Skillport)

UH has partnered with Skillport to offer free online training for a variety of topics including certification preparation for Project Management and Six Sigma.  The Skillport library includes over 5000 modules that encompass training material for certifications, communication, leadership, finance and accounting, and more.  For more information on Skillport, or to log in and start learning, please visit the POD Online Training site: http://www.uh.edu/human-resources/prof-org-dev/Online_Training/index.php.

TRAM

TRAM is on track for 100% completion by mid-September. Classroom-based Time Approver training is now available every other Friday. Go here to learn more. Online TRAM training is in production and will be available in September.

Benefits Fair 2014

Planning is underway for the University of Houston’s Eighth Annual Benefits Fair.  This will be your chance to meet with representatives from various service providers to get information about their offerings.
