Benefits - Qualifying Life Event (QLE)What is a Qualifying Life Event/QLE?

Qualifying life events are major events in a person's life that qualify them to make changes to their health care coverage outside the annual open enrollment period. The most common QLEs for changing enrollment type or plan are:

• marriage
• adding a newborn
• losing health insurance coverage on another plan
• changing employment status
