UH Holiday Schedule

The University of Houston System Board of Regents has approved the following Holiday Schedule for benefits-eligible employees of the University of Houston:

Thanksgiving
Thursday, November 22, 2012
Friday, November 23, 2012

Winter Holiday
Monday, December 24, 2012 through Tuesday, January 1, 2013

Martin Luther King
Monday, January 21, 2013

Memorial Day
Monday, May 27, 2013

Independence Day
Thursday, July 4, 2013

The number of annual holidays is determined by statute.

A state employee is entitled to observe Yom Kippur, Cesar Chavez Day or Good Friday in lieu of any holiday or holidays on which the employee’s agency is required to be open and staffed to conduct public business.

Each university will notify its employees of the approved holiday schedule.
